Mission Statement: The Facilities Committee is responsible for the condition and upkeep of the grounds and physical plant.
The committee makes sure the church building is in usable condition. Many of the tasks the committee performs involve maintenance and repair of equipment, monitoring utilities (maintenance, output/intake, and contracts), maintenance and monitoring of the solar panel output/sales, care for the parking lot including snow removal and salting, and structural maintenance and repair.
Special task forces are created throughout the year to carry out larger projects. The committee is always contemplating future needs and possible renovations. The committee reports any facilities or utilities issues to Board of Trustees. The Board makes final decisions about prioritizing, funding, and time-frame for larger projects.
The committee monitors the Form and Function, Building Maintenance, Handy People, Memorial Garden, Yard Work, and the "Rough Riders" (lawn mowers) work groups and the care of the fire pit.
The committee does not meet on a regular basis at this time. Members are contacted when needed. Work project needs are communicated to the congregation when more volunteers are needed.
The committee also submits a budget request to the Finance Committee in April of each year.
Volunteer Tasks Include:
You are not required to be familiar with everything on the above list. As long as you are excited to learn something new and have the time to commit, we'd love to have you on the team!
