Children's Religious Education (RE)
Mission Statement: The RE programming focuses on promoting 1) Social development - to promote friendship, maturity, support, and care; 2) Educational/mental development - to learn about UU principles and traditions as well as various other spiritual and religious traditions; and 3) Spiritual/ethical development to promote and inspire meaningful spiritual and ethical awareness and practices. The RE Committee reviews and evaluates the success of the RE program. Each RE Committee member becomes a liaison to one of the classrooms and its teachers. They check in at the committee meeting to discuss any issues that have come up, any programming changes, any celebrations, and any concerns or suggestions that teachers, parents, or students have brought up throughout the month. The committee decides on the curricula for the following year, it maintains various forms and documents (DropBox), and actively recruits teachers and volunteers. The committee also reviews needs of the Nursery when special issues arise. The committee meets once a month and sends updates and an annual report to the appropriate Board liaison. The committee also submits a budget request to the Finance Committee at the beginning of each year. RE Committee Volunteer Tasks Include:
You are not required to be familiar with everything on the above list. As long as you are excited to learn something new and have the time to commit, we'd love to have you on the team! Different from the opportunities of being on the committee, other volunteer opportunities working with RE include the following. Click Religious Education for more details.

Adult Enrichment (AE)
Mission Statement: The mission of the Adult Enrichment Committee is to review proposals for courses to ensure they align with our UU principles, and to seek additional enrichment opportunities that support the spiritual and personal growth of the adult church community and the community at large. The AE Committee meets monthly to discuss current offerings and to brainstorm new ones. The committee works with current guidelines (and may develop new guidelines) regarding particular responsibilities, cost/suggested donation to the church for events, etc. The committee also works with the LCUUC Administrative Assistant to determine the location, date and time of each event, and to ensure any incoming monies are distributed back to the appropriate LCUUC accounts. Past offerings include Interrupting Hurtful Remarks, Jump Starting Decisions About Ending Life Decisions, Zen Tangle, Black Lives Matter, Adolescent Brains on Pot workshops, Income Inequality, Nonviolent Communication, Parenting the Love & Logic Way, Creating Climate Solutions, and Philosophy courses. Various movement and meditation courses have been offered as well. The committee is always looking for new ideas, so please feel free to let them know what sounds interesting to you...even if you're not on the committee! The committee meets monthly, and sends monthly updates and an annual report to the appropriate Board liaison. The committee also submits a budget request to the Finance Committee in April of each year. Adult Enrichment Volunteer Tasks Include:
