Music Ministry Committee |
Mission Statement: The Music Committee is dedicated to the support of religious worship through promoting the performance of vocal and instrumental music at worship services and other LCUUC sponsored events. Based on congregational participation under the direction, when available, of the Minister, Music Director, and Choir Director, the committee supports the spiritual growth of LCUUC members and the broader community through music.
The committee gathers to plan, organize, and run church-sponsored, special music events. Their search for new ideas for special worship music includes finding talented musicians, developing guidelines and standards, and providing support to music interest groups. The committee is always collecting feedback from the congregation and from the music program participants to use for future planning and improvement. The committee also determines the needs of the music program and manages donations (instruments, financial, etc.) to the program. For information on other music opportunities including singing in the choir or playing music during regular or special service, go to Music or Choir.
The committee meets monthly, and sends monthly updates and an annual report to the appropriate Board liaison and the Office Administrator..
The committee also submits a budget request to the Finance Committee in April of each year.
Volunteer Tasks Include:
You are not required to be familiar with everything on the above list. As long as you are excited to learn something new and have the time to commit, we'd love to have you on the team!
